In the wake of the New York Giants' win over the New England Patriots during Sunday's Super Bowl, there were undoubtedly some revelers who imbibed a little too much as they were celebrating the big win. In the coming days, it will be interesting to see how many of them received a nasty wake-up call in the form of a DWI, since New York authorities announced they would be conducting a big anti-DWI push over Super Bowl weekend.

Authorities in Albany said they would be installing saturation patrols along the New York State Thruway Friday through Monday. Last year, the state patrol unit responsible for the Thruway issued 1,314 tickets and made 30 DWI arrests.

Now, it's safe to say we all know better than to drink and drive. But in times like yesterday, when the hometown team wins the biggest championship after all, it is also safe to say that even people who are ordinarily very prudent and responsible can get carried away. Driving while intoxicated is not a good thing, but mistakes happen to every one of us.

If you ever get in trouble after drinking too much and then driving, you might want to speak to an attorney about your circumstances. In some cases, lawyers who regularly work with clients who have been accused of DWI can help make the situation better. In any event, it would be a goo conversation to have so that you can better understand what you have been accused of and what the lasting impacts may or may not be.
